Can you leave a meat thermometer in the meat while it’s cooking?
This meat thermometer is designed to be inserted into the meat during roasting in the oven. Not all thermometers are suitable for being left in the oven, so ensure when buying a meat thermometer that it’s appropriate for roasting meat.
Can this meat thermometer be used as a bbq thermometer / barbecue thermometer?
Yes – 100% this is the perfect type of dial thermometer for use as a bbq thermometer where your temperature probe will experience high temperatures. Use this to constantly monitor the meat temperature of your bbq delights!
Can this meat thermometer be used for water?
This thermometer isn’t designed specifically for water and shouldn’t be submerged in water. As a thermometer for meat roasting, this thermometer is ideally suited to high temperature cooking and roasting of meat. The scale is specially designed for roasting meat, showing the ideal temperatures for roasting different types of meat and isn’t ideally suited to measuring the temperature of water.
Which is better a digital meat thermometer or a dial meat thermometer?
Meat thermometers that can be placed in the oven during cooking are ideal for monitoring the temperature of your meat whilst it’s roasting. Digital temperature probes that are hand held are perfect for measuring the temperature of meat whilst it’s been removed from the oven, or if frying meat on the gas cooker and not in the oven.
When to put a meat thermometer in turkey or when roasting meat?
A meat thermometer can be inserted into your roasting joint or turkey whilst cold and for the duration of roasting. The dial on the thermometer has markings for the perfect roasting temperature for different types of meat and for different grades of cooking beef, rare, medium and well done.
Where to put a meat thermometer?
To measure the temperature of your meat joint or poultry accurately, ensure the end of the probe is in a fleshy portion of the meat so it is measuring the temperature of the meat and NOT the air around the meat. This can be most difficult with poultry such as turkey or chicken. Ensure that when the meat thermometer is inserted, it’s in a thick enough portion of the meat to be roasted.

This meat thermometer is exactly what you would expect. What more to say other than it does what it should. Also there is note saying dont submerge in water, easy to clean with a cloth though.

Perfect rare beef. Letting the meat rest for ten minutes wrapped in foil in a warm place is best, regardless of weight!
Being able to leave the thermometer in the meat whilst cooking is great. Careful though, once it reaches ‘rare’ it quickly become ‘medium rare’ so you need to keep an eye on it.

Easy to use with meat type on the dial so you know what the temperature needs to be. Works very well Thanks
